The domestic Ginseng
June 2, 2013
American Ginseng is Panax quinquefolius, as opposed to Chinese variety, Panax Ginseng. Both have the same chemical compounds, and treat the same symptoms in Chinese medicine. American Ginseng is different from it's Asian cousin, as it more generally promotes the Yin energy, the cooling energy and underlies and promotes the yang energy. American Ginseng also rids the body of excess yang energies. But use as you would the Asian species, it's also been called stronger, and more potent than the Asian species and has a great demand in Asia for the wild grown American Ginseng.
Pros:Effective, strong, great company that produces quality extracts.
Cons:A little expensive, but that is the case for American ginseng. It is rare in the wild, nearly driven to extinction, so most "wild grown" today is planted(cultivated) but left mostly alone in a shaded forested area until it matures.
