Ribose is an essential pentose (5-carbon) sugar utilized by the body to synthesize DNA, RNA and produce energy. Ribose is a fundamental building block of adenosine triphosphate (ATP – the substance in which the body stores intracellular energy), the preferential source of energy for skeletal muscle and heart tissue. I am a compedtitive swimmer with a leaky mitral valve. I have been using D-Ribose for over a year and my situation has improved from severe to moderate. I think Best D-Ribos by Doctors Best, with the three other products suggested by Dr. Stephen Sinatra in his book, really works.
