Queen of the Meadow (Eupatorium purpureum) – Commonly
known as Gravel Root, this botanical has been used tradition-
ally to loosen, dissolve and eliminate gravel-like sediment in the
kidney pathways. It has also been traditionally recommended for
disorders of the kidney and bladder due to excessive uric acid
build up and to be therapeutic for the urinary-genital systems
including the kidneys, bladder, prostate and uterus. Conditions
for Queen of the Meadow’s historical application include kidney/
bladder stones, gout, rheumatism, edema, kidney infection and
gallstones.
Corn Silk (Zea mays) – Has its traditional use as a soothing
diuretic that may beneft irritations of the urinary system. Com-
mon conditions that herbalists have used this for include cystitis,
bedwetting, urinary calculi, prostatitis, and bladder disorders of
children.
Cleavers (Galium aparine) – Traditionally recognized as an ex-
cellent tonic for the lymphatic system; it also has an effect on
the urinary tract for its diuretic properties. It has been used his-
torically for skin disorders like psoriasis and eczema, for infamed
or enlarged lymph nodes, painful urination, cystitis and kidney
stones.
Celery Seed (Apium graveolens) – Has been used traditionally
for infammation of the urinary tract, retention of urine, rheuma-
tism, arthritis and gout. Eclectic physicians have used celery as
a nervine tonic to assist with nervous disorders, restlessness
and insomnia.
Bearberry (Uva ursi) – Traditionally used for many disorders
of the kidney and bladder because of its antiseptic and astrin-
gent effect on the membranes of the urinary system. Common
conditions associated with its traditional use are infammatory
disorders of the bladder and kidneys, like cystitis and urethritis;
chronic irritation of the bladder; excessive mucus and bloody dis-
charges in the urine; and urinary stones. Other uses also include
situations where there is a lack of tone in the urinary system and
where there is lack of innervation of the urinary tract.
Marshmallow (Althaea offcinalis) – Traditionally prescribed for
any disorder of the mucous membranes and has been used for
the urinary system affected by renal irritation, infammation of
the bladder, retention of urine, some forms of gravel, and most
kidney and bladder infections.
Other Ingredients: Ethanol 20%, Purifed Water.
