Methyl Folate™ contains 5-methytetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF), the most active form of folate. This superior, methylated form of folate is metabolically active and ready for the body to use since it requires no additional conversion to be absorbed. It has been found that some individuals are unable to convert the form of folic acid commonly found in nutritional supplements to the active or methylated form needed by the body. For many individuals, Methyl Folate offers an effective solution by providing therapeutic levels of activated folate and requiring no additional conversion by the body.

Folate supplementation supports healthy cardiovascular function, healthy nervous system function and assists in maintaining proper homocysteine metabolism. Additionally, folate supplementation during pregnancy has been shown to reduce the risk of congenital malformations including neural tube defects (malformations of the spine, skull, and brain).
