N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) is an effective antioxidant. In this capacity, it acts as a free-radical scavenger and inhibits the production of superoxide. Furthermore, it helps to replenish intracellular glutathione, another vital cellular antioxidant. NAC has a low molecular weight and is well absorbed via oral administration. In addition to its other functions, NAC has also demonstrated effectiveness as a potent detoxifier.

Integrative Therapeutics is known for their excellent quality control, so I was thrilled to find that they offer NAC. My husband's pulmonary fibrosis has not progressed since he started taking 600 mg of NAC three times a day.
