Who Should be Concerned About Bone Health?

Many factors can have a negative effect on your overall bone health. In fact, you are at greater risk of weakened bones just from being female. In fact, as much as 50 percent of women over 65 in the United States should be concerned about maintaining their bone health. As women age, they are much more likely to lose more bone mass at a faster rate than their bodies can keep up with.

That is why Thorne Research formulated its Oscap supplement to include various vitamins and minerals that are known to promote bone density. The calcium you’ll find in Oscap is bound to citrate malate, which is one of the best-absorbed types of dietary calcium that is available today.

Studies have shown that supplementing with calcium (bound to citrate-malate) in doses as low as 500 milligrams per day can significantly support overall bone health. Magnesium is also beneficial to promoting bone density because it regulates the secretion parathyroid hormones and helps active calcium find its way to the bone.

In addition to calcium and magnesium, Oscap also provides the essential vitamin D3, which helps the body absorb calcium; vanadium, which promotes bone mineral density; and boron, which helps the body metabolize estrogen and vitamin D.
