Tested for potency
February 28, 2011
You can add this to your morning smoothie or your favorite beverage. It tastes pretty neutral. Looking at the amount of servings, this is not the cheapest probiotic around, but also not the most expensive. And the quality is outstanding (As far as my understanding goes, all DFH products are).
I tested this powder for potency - it definitely had live cultures in it!
BTW, here's how you can test a probiotic for life bacteria: Take 1/3 cup of fresh milk, mix with daily amount of Probiotic (if in capsules, open capsules and pour into milk). Let stand on kitchen counter. After 24-48 hours the bacteria should have gotten to work and turned the milk into a custard-like substance. That means the probiotic contains alive and active bacteria. If the milk is still thin and nothing happened, the probiotics have been frozen or heated on the way and are worthless. (Not every probiotic does. I tested Garden of Life' Ω Probiotics the same day with the same batch of milk - Garden of Life didn't pass the test.)
Pros:Tested for potency
Taste is pretty neutral
