This is the first time that a nutrient, (resveratrol), was shown to improve the life-span of a mammal.

The study also found that resveratrol appears to reversed genetic changes associated with obesity and age, which are commonly linked to diabetes and heart disease. Dissected liver tissues in the HCR group found significantly less fat than the HC group. The findings indicate that the HCR mice metabolized fat in a more efficient manner than the HC mice.
