SAM-e is a naturally occurring metabolite of the essential amino acid methionine and can be found in all living cells. However, there are two forms: (S,S) SAM-e which is biologically active; as well as its counterpart, (R,S) SAM-e which does not display any activity whatsoever. Jarrow FORMULAS® takes special care to ensure that only 68%-80% pure biologically active form -(S, S)-SAM– e -is processed from their fermentation process without solvents for maximum effectiveness.
SAM-e is clinically proven to bolster joint health in a unique way. By stimulating the transulfuration process, SAM-e can help replenish essential components of connective tissue like glucosamine and chondroitin sulfates--promoting strong joints with lasting strength.
SAM-e methylation helps the brain stay in balance, and is necessary for synthesizing key compounds that influence our moods and hormones.
