Ultra EFA is better than Fish Oil!
November 14, 2010
I started using this by my vet's recommendation, for my German Shepherds arthritis. We had used a few different types of fish oil products, but had many problems with the capsules, the capsules that you twist the ends off of, and the pump. Between the mess and the smell, we were not compliant with the vet's directions. Ultra EFA is not messy and does not have the trademark aweful smell of fish oil. Our dog was more willing to eat it even! Now, that dog has passed, but our other dog is using it. His acupuncturist recommended increasing his vit e and EFA. She had not heard of Ultra EFA and said she is very happy with its formulation and will recommend it to other clients.
Unfortunately, I cannot say that I have noticed a marked difference due to this product alone as we have made many changes at once in order to quickly make him feel more comfortable without invasive, toxic therapies. However, he is in less pain and has an increased range of motion. (That is why 4 and not 5 stars)
Pros:Easy to dose, not a repulsive scent, more pallatable to dog, replaces EFA's and vitamin supplements.
Cons:Should be refrigerated, Needs vigorous shaking before use
