Bought Ashwagandha Root Powder by Organic Traditions to make a drink at night to help with sleep. Doesn't help much and doesn't taste that great but as a supplement, it helps with energy and sense of calm. I take it in the morning instead and stir it into my fiber, etc. Will go back to tablet form when I run out, only because it is easier. But if you prefer to drink it, this is a great product.

    Pros

    Good quality.

    Cons

    Prefer the ease of tablets.

My doctor (MD in General Practice and Geriatric Medicine) recommended Ashwagandha after I flunked a questionnaire to screen for depression. She promised that it's harmless and it works. So I bought the Aswagandha Root Powder by Organic Traditions and tried taking it a few ways. My favorite way is to boil a spoonful in a cup of ginger tea once or twice a day. My spirits, energy, and productivity are on the upswing. I'm going to keep taking it.

    Pros

It works for depression, it's safe and it's cheap (at PureFormulas.com).

    Cons

At first I tried just whisking the powder into cold water, and it wasn't very tasty. Boiling it for a minute or two to soften it and mixing it with something to kill the bitterness is a must. I like it in ginger tea. You have to swirl the cup to keep it from settling.

I ordered Ashwagandha Root Powder by Organic Traditions as a general tonic for both my husband and I. I got an awful stomach ache after my first dose and haven't tried it again, but my husband takes it daily and it seems to help him keep his energy up despite an erratic sleeping schedule due to his work shifts. He was after me to order more after the first bag was gone.

    Pros

Can't take on its own, but mixes well in smoothies, cereals or juices.

    Cons

I can't really tell if Ashwagandha Root Powder by Organic Traditions gives me energy or helps with stress, but I also can't say that I have been stressed or lethargic either. I am almost done with my bag, but I have not experienced any negative side effects from taking this. I will see how I feel once I stop using it but for now I will keep using it.

    Pros

Inexpensive and claims to have great health benefits.

    Cons

Has a weird taste, but not too overpowering. Not sure if it works yet.
