B-Complex with Metafolin® by Douglas Labs is a comprehensive B-vitamin supplement with added intrinsic factor support. B-vitamins are required for a large amount of health processes and need to be a part of our nutritional intake. This quality supplement may therefore be able to improve various areas of your health.

B-vitamins work as co-enzymes‚ meaning that they are able to facilitate certain metabolic reactions. They are also essential for cell maintenance‚ hormone production‚ and nervous system functions. Most of them are actually water-soluble so it’s important to give the body an adequate daily supply.

Niacin‚ riboflavin‚ and thiamin are three B-vitamins needed for the production of energy in your body. Vitamin B-6 is required for the biosynthesis of several neurotransmitters. These are essential for nerve signal transmission and include serotonin‚ epinephrine‚ and norepinephrine.

Vitamin B-12 and folate are needed for the metabolism of both DNA and RNA. The added serving of gastric intrinsic factor (GIF) may also allow for the improved absorption of vitamin B-12. This formula also includes biotin‚ which participates in energy production and the maintenance of skin‚ hair‚ and nails.

B-Complex with Metafolin® may be taken once daily or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Order with PureFormulas today!

With COVID-19, I haven't been able to get in to get appointment with PCP to get a blood sample to see if homocysteine levels have decreased. But, doesn't seem to have any obvious outside affects I can tell.

      Pros

Easily obtainable and no prescription necessary to purchase.

      Cons

Verdict still out on whether it decreases homocysteine or not.
I would recommend this item to a friend.

I take the required dosage according to my PCP and it lowered my homocysteine level from 15 to 12.6, but it still needs to be less than 11.4 so that's a 16% decrease.

      Pros

It seems to help with lowering the homocysteine level.

      Cons

Definitely need to drink at least 8oz of water or more because you will get dry mouth if you don't. I'm not certain, but eating healthy didn't contribute to the drop in the level.

I'm sure this is a good quality product but it left my stomach unsettled unlike my methyl B complex from Pure Encapsulations

I noticed no difference in my energy level after taking other multivitamins or B vitamins until I took a B-12 with intrinsic factor from another brand that no longer makes the product. The intrinsic factor enables the body to absorb B-12. With Douglas Labs B-Complex I am able to maintain my energy level without any jitters or nervousness. I also appreciate that Douglas Labs does not add maltodextrin.

      Pros

High quality B vitamins, Small easy-to-swallow capsule, Contains intrinsic factor

      Cons

      Nothing
I would recommend this item to a friend.

B-Complex with Metafolin and Intrinsic Factor by Douglas Laboratories formula has given me a definite energy boost. I've tried several other B formulas and I never felt any better with them.

      Pros

Energy boost with no side effects

      Cons

Somewhat pricey but you're paying for the formula

Tests indicated that my B vitamins were low, so my doctor recommended supplementation. B-Complex with Metafolin and Intrinsic Factor by Douglas Laboratories is a  wide-spectrum product that was very effective, and latest tests confirm that my levels are now back to a healthy range.

      Pros

Does the job. Contains forms of vitamins are proved effective.

      Cons

      Nothing.

B-Complex with Metafolin and Intrinsic Factor by Douglas Laboratories includes the higher (and more expensive) bio-available formulations of the individual vitamins. As a result, there is a stronger change of metabolizing the indvidual b-vitamins in this product. It is excellent, and incredibly cheaper than buying each of the vitamins individually as I have been doing. Saving $$ and still getting the best of the best. Thanks

      Pros

Douglas Labs chose better formulations for their individual vitamins.

      Cons

      Nothing.
I would recommend this item to a friend.

Overall. I like B-Complex with Metafolin and Intrinsic Factor by Douglas Laboratories, but will not reorder due to “vegetable stearate” listed under other ingredients. Vegetable stearate are derived from plant sources (cottonseed oil, canola oil, Palm oil) these are high risk GM crop. Will have to find a supplier with NO added storages at all.

      Pros

Keeps me alert and have more energy.

      Cons

      Contains vegetable stearate.
I would recommend this item to a friend.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:
I haven't been diagnosed with the MTHFR but have many of the symptoms and my body does not metabolize folic acid. Was going to order the b12 2000. Can/should one take both these b12 products? I'm 48 and peri menopausal, I've started taking d3, primrose oil, b12, and tumeric from a different brand name and not feeling major difference. My neighbor recommended this site/product. I can't afford to overdo so I just want to take best possible scenario. Thanks.
    marsha wooten on 5/26/2016 Answer:
    • Hi Marsha, we apologize but here at PureFormulas, we cannot make recommendations for our customers because there is so much to take into consideration when doing so. Everyone breaks down, absorbs, and reacts to nutrients differently, and only your healthcare practitioner, that is familiar with your needs, would be able to make a recommendation that is the best for you.
      PureFormulas on 6/07/2016
  • Question:
Are all of the ingredients in the B-Complex with Metafolin and Intrinsic Factor by Douglas water soluble  I'm thinking if they are that I can take it on an empty stomach. I plan to take a dose on an empty before bedtime to help with bruxism but want to get the most benefit so will take it with fatty food if necessary. Thank you for your help. I love your site. You carry the best products and have the best prices I have seen anywhere.
    Phyllis Anderson on 2/21/2016 Answer:
    • Hi there Phyllis! We appreciate every compliment given! We apologize, these capsules are not water soluble. An option that can be used is to break open the capsule and mix it with water for a better way of taking the vitamin.
